Physician Incentive Program

All attendees who complete both the 5.5 hours of in-person training followed by the 4 hours of online training within 90 days after the conference will receive a $750 incentive payment.*

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is a buprenorphine prescribing training workshop for New Jersey licensed physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants that includes 5.5 hours of in-person training at the conference, followed by 4-hours of online training that attendees will complete within 90 days after the conference. Attendees will receive a $750 honorarium for completing both the in-person and online training.  The workshop fulfills the 8-hours of training required to apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine for treatment of an opioid use disorder. The workshop will include both didactic lectures and breakout groups including discussion of clinical cases. The session will cover core content, mandated by the federal training requirement, as well as practical information to connect patients to needed specialty care and social services and how to receive mentoring and support. RowanSOM is helping to make this initiative possible with grant funding from the State of New Jersey. 
 
CREDIT DESIGNATION:
NJAOPS designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.5 AOA Category 1-A CME credits and for a maximum of  5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(tm).  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

  1. List clinical factors that are important for selecting patients for office-based buprenorphine/naloxone treatment.
  2. Understand the clinically relevant pharmacology of buprenorphine/naloxone, extended release naltrexone and methadone.
  3. Describe the resources needed to establish office-based treatment with buprenorphine/naloxone and other medications to treat patients with opioid use disorders.
